Handmade Lao Cong Shui Xian
The leaves of our Lao Cong Shui Xian ("Old Bush Water Sprite") come from old trees (40-50 years old) in Liu Guan Zhai, deep within the Wuyi National Scenic Area. With trees of this age growing in such a pristine environment, the leaves are rich in nutrients - which is immediately noticeable in the tea liquor. What is more, the orchid fragrance and yan yun ("rock rhyme") are highlighted, with a refreshingly cool sensation upon swallowing.
This tea was processed using traditional methods with a number of charcoal roasts. The finished leaves of this Lao Cong Shui Xian are firm and strip-like; the colour of the leaves is a deep green. The tea liquor is rich, smooth and heavy, with a lingering sweetness in the mouth upon swallowing. There is also a slight aged taste and a rich yan yun.
