2008 Yiwu (400g)

This tea is an amazing value. Yiwu Mountain is one of the original Six Great Tea Mountains. It is situated near the village of Yiwu in Mengla County in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province. Yiwu Mountain has a superior natural environment, with fertile soil and a mild climate of abundant rainfall and swirling mists. The old-growth tea trees that grow here are mostly scattered across the old tea mountain zone, at an altitude of around 1400 meters.

The leaves of this tea are plump, thick and glossy and produce a golden-yellow liquor. When hot water touches the leaf an elegant fragrance fills the air, with hints of orchid emerging through the plum and honey notes. It has an ever-so-slightly bitter taste that quickly dissipates and gives way to a mouth-watering flavour and long-lasting sweet aftertaste.  The liquor is delicate and sweet and lasts through many infusions.

This tea comes from younger trees, around 80-100 years old, making it an affordable everyday aged tea.
