“Auspicious”: Traditionally-processed Liu Bao (2000s)

"Auspicious" (Pu Tian Jia Qing) is a 2000s liu bao, rich and smooth with a complex profile. It comes from Wuzhou in Guangxi and was made the traditional way, with wet piling and steaming to drive fermentation, then stored in Malaysia.

Liu bao is a dark tea (hei cha). The relatively light fermentation at the time of production left plenty of room for ageing, which has refined its appearance, aroma and flavour.

Thick and velvety, with a naturally sweet aroma. The richness stays with you, moving back and forth in the mouth and down the throat.
