Handmade Shui Jin Gui
Shui Jin Gui ("Golden Water Tortoise") is one of the Si Da Ming Cong, or "Four Big Famous Bushes". It is harvested in mid-May each year, with the plucking mainly composed of two leaves or three leaves. The buds of this varietal are thick and yellowish-green in the sunlight, with fewer hairs than some other varietals.
This Shui Jin Gui was processed using traditional methods with several charcoal roasts. The shape of the finished leaves is strong and natural, with a greenish-brown colour. The aroma is long and clear with notes of plum blossom; this is a very fragrant tea. The liquour is thick and sweet, with an obvious yan yun ("rock rhyme"). This tea lubricates the mouth and throat, leaving one feeling refreshed upon swallowing. The color of the tea liquour is a bright, clear orange.
