Fu Brick Tea with Golden Flowers (780g)

Fu brick was the caravan tea of the old Silk Road, pressed dense for the journey and left to bloom inside with jin hua, the golden flowers, a prized fungus that turns the brick mellow, sweet and remarkably easy on the stomach.

These are substantial bricks from Hunan, available in three vintages. The golden flowers continue working year after year, so the older bricks drink noticeably rounder and deeper. Break off what you need and brew it strong; a brick this size will keep a household in tea for a long while.
